Compared to its nearby resort, Bohol Beach Club, South Palms Resort offers more amenities and more space for all the guests to enjoy their much needed privacy. This makes South Palms a haven for rest and relaxation which is the very essence of your vacation.
The staff of South Palms Resort are very well-trained, courteous and always accommodating. They never fail to greet the guests whenever they are on site. They are always happy to serve even if that means waking up too early to grant a customer’s request.
The resort is always immaculately maintained. The pools are regularly cleaned, the public areas are clean and the beach area is always perfect. Housekeeping is twice daily although toiletries sometimes are not replenished. The design is a mix of contemporary and tropical which is perfect for that island vibe.
The rooms are spacious but a bit outdated. Amenities are all functional and modern. The deluxe rooms are located too far from the main areas but the ones near the beach are superb. The beds are all very comfortable.
The 700 meter stretch of powdery white sands of South Palms is actually the best in all of Panglao. There are more than enough hammocks, sun loungers and floating beds for all the guests to enjoy. The swimming pool is also surrounded with bean bags and the design of the infinity pool is superb.
The location is very ideal. It is a short drive away from the airport and other tourist attractions. Guests are offered regular shuttle services to and from Alona Beach in case they want to explore the other popular beach on the island.
South Palms is more expensive than Bohol Beach Club but it does offer regular promotions for honeymooners and other guests where they can take advantage of free picnic baskets, free airport shuttle candle lit dinner by the beach and other freebies included in the room rate. All in all, you pay more but you get a lot of value in return, staying at one of Bohol's best resorts.
If you love seafood, the Oceanica restaurant is the best on the island. The ingredients are locally grown and so guests are served with the freshest ingredients. The slight difference in scores may be due to the amenities that customers typically enjoy in South Palms. The beach is much bigger and the 2 pools are better designed whereas there is only one pool in Bohol Beach Club for all guests. Most of the positive reviews are focused on the beach, the impeccable service of the staff, the quality of the food in the restaurant, and the massive grounds where guests can enjoy utmost privacy even when the resort is fully booked. On the other hand, there are negative reviews on the breakfast selection. Guests think that there is not enough healthy options on the menu. While the food is great and the serving is good, the selection is too limited and this also applies to their a la carte menus. Some guests commented on the outdated room designs and the distance of the rooms to the main areas.

When staying at South Palms Resort, it is much better to take the higher category rooms. The basic rooms are quite far from the beach and pool areas. It does mean you’ll have to spend a bit more, but it is definitely worth it. Bohol Beach Club’s basic rooms are right by the pool, so that is a reason to stay there instead. It all boils down to whether you prefer activities or relaxation, as both resorts are very nice.
No matter which one you choose, you still get the best beach on the island and the same level of Filipino hospitality. But if relaxation is all you’re after, nothing beats South Palms Resort.
The Deluxe room category is the lowest tier rooms of the resort. They are slightly outdated and most of them are quite far from the public areas. The Deluxe Garden is the cheapest, equipped with a twin bed and room size is 30sqm. The Deluxe Pool view costs only a bit more and as the name suggests is closer to the pool. Choice of either a king bed or a twin bed. Room size is 33 sqm.
Finally, the Deluxe Beachfront is the nicest option in this category. You get a choice between twin bed or a king bed. Room size is 34 sqm. Standard amenities for all deluxe rooms include TV, mini bar, coffee and tea making facility and safety deposit box.
