Nigi Nigi Nu Noos is a 3 star hotel right in the middle of Station 2 in White Beach, Boracay. It has a distinct Polynesian influenced design – with cottage style accommodation and beautiful gardens in between them. This place is also famous for having one of the most popular bars in Boracay, offering great food and fun live music.
Nigi Nigi has already become a known establishment in Boracay, and one of the first places someone would recommend you to check. The sports bar, coupled with the overall atmosphere of the place, has also made this hotel one of the most favorite among Westerners. While at most Boracay resorts the guests come mainly from China and Korea, here you can except to see mostly U.S and European tourists.
With clean, comfortable rooms and a great location just by the beach, Nigi Nigi is a great choice for those who want to stay at station 2 but cut back on expenses. It offers a friendly and cozy environment where you’ll soon feel like home. We recommend this hotel especially for couples or group of friends, who want to be close to the action but still enjoy a certain level of comfort. Couples can also check Nigi’s sister hotel in Station 1, the Nigi Nigi too.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful – most of them have been with the resort for years and are well experienced in dealing with Western tourists. Since this is a 3 star resort, you can't really expect any personal service, but at least everything is done with a smile. We are yet to hear of a problem that wasn't solved quickly and in a satisfactory fashion.
The whole resort is designed in a simple yet charming way. It's exactly what you envision when you think of a cozy beach resort on island paradise. That said, we did notice some small faults with the rooms, and it doesn't seem like cleaning gets the utmost attention here.
Rooms aren't huge, but they are big enough and well planned so it's very comfortable. Everything is working very well – comfortable bed, strong AC and hot shower. The only exception is the WiFi, which is a bit of an hit and miss both in the rooms and the public areas.
The resort doesn't have a pool which is a shame, but since it's located right at the beach front it's not the end of the world. They also own the nearby Pinjalo resort, and guests at Nigi Nigi are welcomed there if they want to use the pool.
Perfect location right in the middle of White Beach. The fact that the rooms are tucked away at the back, surrounded by the lush gardens, helps keep away the noise as well.
White beach hotels are never cheap, but here you get a lot for your money. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, near the beach and above all – the best location possible.
It’s fair to say Nigi Nigi is where the action starts at Boracay, since people get here as early as 7pm to start drinking and have a good time. At around 9pm the live band start playing, and the whole place wakes up. Last call is usually around midnight, then you can proceed to one of the many other bars and nightclubs in White Beach (closer to station 1), where the party goes on until 3-4am. We asked people if the noise from the bar doesn’t bother them, and they all said you can barely hear it in the rooms.
When we got back there the next morning and asked to see the rooms, we had to double check we came to the same place. Any evidence of the wild night was long gone, and instead we saw a peaceful and sleepy beach resort before us. The rooms are all big and well designed, contributing to the feeling of coziness and simplicity. They each come with air conditioning, mini fridge, TV, safety deposit box and free WiFi. There’s no smoking inside the rooms, but each room has a small balcony in front of it so that’s not a problem at all.
Nigi Nigi is a well knows establishment within the island of Boracay, and enjoys a very good reputation. Finding feedback online is easy, as the place is always full of tourists and also enjoys recognition by media and bloggers. We tried to go through as much information as possible, to save you the time in figuring out what is the relevant information you need to know about this resort. Ultimately, what matters most to us is the feedback we get directly from our clients. We sent many of them to Nigi and so far, nobody came back disappointed. While going though the online reviews and comments made by some guests, we got the feeling people didn't really know what to expect when they booked this place. That is why we suggest you read this review carefully, and think if this is the type of place you would enjoy – since it has very clear advantages, but also disadvantages. Tripadvisor has 393 reviews, with an average of 4.5 stars out of 5. Only 5% of guests rated their stay "below average", while 88% had an above average experience. What people seemed to like the most is the cottages and garden style, which gives the resort a very homely vibe. Of course the proximity to the beach was also mentioned a lot. Complaints were rare, and usually revolve around the rooms being too old and having weak WiFi. Over at Booking.com. We found 379 more reviews with an average score of 8.4 – one of the highest for a 3 star resort in station 2. Again, people were thrilled with the location, as well as the service they got from hotel staff. The most common complaints were about the price and the WiFi. The most reviews are found at Agoda.com, where Nigi Nigi has been rated by 715 different guests. They gave the resort an average score of 8.4, just like booking.com did. The people here really liked the breakfast and said the rooms were big, and the price is a bargain. The only repeating complaint we found was about the mosquitoes, and of course the WiFi.
Nigi Nigi has some clear advantages that can convince you to stay there:
That said, there are also some problems with this place:
There aren’t any special facilities at the resort – this is more of a bed and breakfast type of place. Don’t expect a gym or anything like that. You can order a massage from reception if you like, and have it in your room. We can’t say how good it will be, but probably just a standard Filipino massage which is usually not that great. Waiting time is around 10-15 minutes so keep that in mind as well.
Overall, we believe Nigi Nigi Nu Noos is an excellent choice for budget accommodation in White Beach. If you know what to expect, and understand the price ranges in Boracay and how they are determined, you will definitely feel like you spent your money well here. The resort offers everything you need to have a comfortable and fun vacation in Boracay, and is perfect for couples and small group of friends.
