The only beach resort that lives up to the real 5-star standards, La Eskaya is not at all comparable with any other estate in Bohol. It stands on a level of its own where only a handful of people can have the privilege to enjoy. With only 24 villas on offer, the resort embodies exclusivity and ultimate luxury experience unmatched anywhere else on the island.
Spectacular scenery and sprawling lush gardens greet the guests at the reception and on the way to the villas. Upon check-in, you will be greeted warmly and served with refreshing welcome treats and drinks. The overall ambiance is very relaxing thanks to the blend of Filipino architecture and modern amenities. Eskaya is perfect for honeymooners – Every villa screams of romance and privacy. With only 24 villas spread across a 39-acre property, there is more than enough space for all the guests to feel alone in their little corner of paradise.
Very few resorts in the Philippines could come close to this level of luxury. Five star resorts in Boracay such as the Shangri-La and Discovery Shores are too big to offer complete privacy and exclusivity to their guests. Abaca Resort in Mactan is smaller with only 9 rooms, but Abaca doesn’t offer private pools in all the rooms like Eskaya does.
In La Eskaya, there is a dedicated butler for every villa who is happy to serve and pays attention even to the smallest details. Nothing can be better than that.
The grounds are immaculate, the pools are clean and regularly maintained, the villas are cleaned on a daily basis and public areas are spotless. The design is both Filipino and contemporary, perfect for that tropical island vibe.
All the rooms in La Eskaya are massive. They offer all modern comforts and each with its own private pool and stunning views of either the garden or the beach. Complete with luxurious amenities, the rooms are made with local products and fitted with western fixtures.
All private pools are well-designed and refreshing. The beach is beautiful with powdery white sands, but what’s really amazing and the focal highlight of the resort is its deep blue infinity pool which perfectly blends with the color of the sea.
Eskaya is close to the newly opened airport and it is also a short drive away to the popular Alona Beach where all the action is. However, outside the resort, there is nothing. There are no good restaurants or shops nearby where you can easily walk to, so you always need to have your own transport or use the resort's shuttle service.
La Eskaya is expensive, yes, compared to all the resorts on the island and probably more expensive compared to some other 5-star resorts in places like Boracay or Cebu. However, it is still a good value for money option because the room rates already include spa treatment, countryside tours, airport shuttle, breakfast and use of water equipment available at the resort.
Recreational activities include a variety of things like fishing, diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, island hopping or beach sports. You can also use kayaks and other non-motorized water equipment for free. If you have kids, you can ask for their kiddie activities on offer. At the end of the day, get pampered with a soothing spa treatment and massage for an hour or lounge by the pool sipping champagne or your favorite wine. Whatever is it you want to do, Eskaya promises romance and solitude.
Our clients who have stayed in La Eskaya have 100% satisfaction rating. They were all treated and pampered like VIP’s and they only have positive things to say about the resort. Online reviews are also very positive. In Tripadvisor, 71% out of 504 reviews rated it excellent while only 1% rated the lowest possible. The overall score is 4.5 out of 5. In Agoda.com, 78% of the reviewers highly recommends La Eskaya to their family and friends. The score is 8.6 with 351 reviews. Most of the positive comments are focused on how good the service is and how friendly and attentive the staff are. Guests loved how they were treated and pampered. They enjoyed all the state-of-the-art amenities like the infinity pool, bar and restaurants. The villas and the private pools were also complimented many times. On the other hand, negative reviews are mostly about the price. When people have to pay so much more, they also tend to expect so much more which is completely acceptable but it also means that small things like mosquitoes, ants or lizards in the room will be complained about even if it is completely natural as the villas are surrounded by nature. Other people also feel that the food quality and variety should be improved especially for breakfast. There were also some cleanliness issues reported.
